Sam is a multi-award-winning cult figure on the worldwide comedy scene. He has collected awards, glowing reviews, and played to sell out houses around the world.
Sam regularly appears on radio and television all over the world including appearing on the UK’s BBC’s Live At The Apollo & Channel 4’s 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, numerous Melbourne International Comedy Festival Gala’s, The Voice of Bob Heeler in BLUEY. Mr Wallaby in Peppa Pig. The Debut feature film in Rebel Wilsons The Deb. Comedy central in the US and Late Nights with Conan. As well as advertorial voice over work for Google, Apple, ABC, ITV and C4.
In 2015 he won the highest accolade in live comedy the 2015 Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show for the critically acclaimed Spaghetti for Breakfast. He was also nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2011 and 2014.
At the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, he has won everything from the 2008 Directors’ Choice Award, 2010 Piece of Wood Award and Golden Gibbo Award and 2015 Barry Award for Most Outstanding Show. In 2011, he won Best Comedy Show at the Adelaide Fringe Festival and Sydney Morning Herald M Award for Best Comedy in Sydney Comedy Festival. In 2014 he won the Director’s Choice Award at the Sydney Comedy Festival, and the Best Comedy Performer at that years Helpmann Awards.
In 2012 Sam assembled a wonderful cast of Australia’s pre-eminent absurdist’s for Problems, a four-part journey through the cream brick Neverland that is the Australian suburbs. Problems aired in Australia on ABC1, throughout the UK on UKTV’s Dave network. You may have also seen Sam on Conan where he appeared in 2013.
Sam returned to the stage in 2023 with a brand-new show, CONTENT to critical acclaim.
Now hovering between Australia, London and Los Angeles, Sam is a true Australian original.
