Kelly has the kind of voice that makes you feel like you’ve known her for years – even when you just met her thirty seconds ago. This is great for voice work, but often leads to people oversharing at parties. Fortunately, she’s excellent at keeping secrets and loves a bit of scurrilous gossip. If a read calls for dry wit, genuine warmth, deadpan humour, authority, or something a little unhinged – she can go there.
Kelly brings a rare combination of instinct and craft to every project. Her years spent in children’s entertainment – both as a Captain Starlight for the Starlight Children’s Foundation and as a puppeteer for Camp Quality – meant her job was to walk into a hospital ward and make it feel like the best place to be. This meant lots of character voices, improvised comedy, silly songs, and books read with full dramatic effect. Kelly is currently completing a Graduate Diploma in Radio and Podcasting at AFTRS.
If you need a voice that feels like that smart but funny friend who’ll give it to you straight – only cos she cares – she’s your person.
Actor Bio
A random stranger on IMDB once wrote that “it’s clear Kelly Monisse is a talent and leaves you wanting more.” This was for her role as Bridget Van-Ryan in buddy-comedy Malibu Crush (2021) – not that she reads her reviews… It seems he was right, because director James Pratt brought her back in his latest film Eyes of Salt (2026) as Paige Ellis, a role he wrote specifically for her.
Her contribution to the ensemble cast of The Charitable Sisterhood of the Second Trinity Victory Church (2025) has seen the film win Best Comedy at the Christian Online Film Festival. She’s good. Really good. And even if you don’t think so, at least DisFilmCritic_097 recognises her talent.
But it’s not just her work on screen that has people talking. She’s praised for her work in the booth, too.
