The launch of Urzila signals the ABC’s intent to reignite a genre that once defined Aussie humour.
Urzila Carlson is bringing the laughs — and a whole lot of chaos — to ABC screens in 2026, fronting a brand-new comedy series that promises to mix sharp stand-up with full-throttle sketch mayhem.
Titled URZILA, the series is being cooked up by Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia in collaboration with the ABC, with Carlson taking the reins as creator and host. The show weaves together her brutally dry stand-up routines with sketch comedy inspired by real-life stories, all delivered with that unmistakable Urzila attitude.
