No doubt you’ve heard the phrase ‘raising the bar’, but I think Emma Chelsey has gone out and bought her own.
Emma is an experience actor, dancer, singer, percussionist and has followed her acting passion with training in Paris and The United States. Did I mention she’s an animal trainer and does a killer US accent? The sum of all these parts is, like so many of Scout’s voice talent, they continue to raise the professionalism and session-ready skills they bring to each booking.
But there’s a darker, hidden side to Emma’s bar-raising, bar-owning qualities and you won’t find it in her voice. It’s rumoured Emma can inflict pain and injury with a raised eyebrow or a flick of her hair. Then, if you can take it, comes the steely gaze and the feet planted firmly on the ground to make a point or stand up for what’s right. Only then after all that, can you hear the endless supply of Vitamin D for determination. Its served her well in the continuous round of auditions and performances she’s already given in her early acting life.
I should return to her American accent. It’s flawless and ageless. She has perfected the tone and the inflection after many years in the states and many on camera appearances. Ageless? Emma could easily be the dashboard voice of your Tesla or the documentarian taking you around the Smithsonian.
We get to benefit by all that with access to a local actor who can deliver the goods and open the door to more clients wanting this accent.
Emma Chelsey is another new voice to the impressive Scout Management voice line-up. Some might call her a new style of woman too arriving right when we need her. Strong determined and globally experienced.
