Ryan grew up in a rural town in the south of Tasmania, and took up several creative practises very
early on in his life. These eventually led him to move to Sydney in the pursuit of a life as a
professional artist.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Contemporary Art (Theatre) from the University of Tasmania in
2018, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in
2021.
Since joining the Scout team in 2021, Ryan has worked across many mediums including radio,
documentary, advertising, and audiobook narration. Most notably he has voiced several campaigns
for Red Rooster, and narrated the Wildbear TV docuseries The World War: 1914 – 1945.
He uses his actor training to ensure that story is always front and centre, whilst employing his wide
and wild vocal skills to make every character, product, or read completely unique.
Ryan is also a multi award winning playwright, whose works have been performed all over the
country. His most notable plays include Drizzle Boy, Minutes To Midnight, Making It To 30, and
Watching. In his spare time he enjoys drinking tea, listening to heavy metal music, and tending to
his garden.
