Jeremy Hopkins

We’ve done all the checks, and we’re pretty sure that Jeremy Hopkins has never attended an announcer school to learn proper good English like. There’s been no weekend shifts on radio, no “mop and bucket to aisle 4” shopping centre announcements, not even a bingo call announcing the arrival of “legs eleven”.

He’s been too busy, acting on TV since he was 15, and performing as a singer and drummer at home and abroad, with everybody from Gossling to John Farnham. He uses his rich skill set as a weapon in the world of advertising and audio communication. It’s all there in his sound: the timing, the range, the playfulness, the creative expression.

So Jeremy arrives fresh, unaffected and happy to throw out the rule book of what “announcers” are supposed to sound like. Instead he has a one on one conversational style that makes people listen, get involved in the word pictures he’s painting and believe in what he’s saying. He’s earnest, honest and real, and that inspires trust. To older listeners Jeremy’s voice says, “I’m young but I’m wise, you can trust me.” To younger listeners his voice says, “I play in a band! Let’s hang out.” Plus it all comes wrapped in a warmth and a smile that hugs you like a friendly Koala.
