We’re all familiar with the dress up box. A childhood collection of clothes and accessories to quickly assume characters and disguises. Now combine this with the more adult idea of the quick-change artist. Usually, a television talent show staple where the magician’s assistant makes wardrobe changes at lightning speed. Somewhere in between these worlds of childish play and adult skill Darren Sabadina’s voice leaves his audience amazed and wondering how he does it.
Darren can start with the big broad energy required by national food and drink brands, then it’s a quick change to youthful bewilderment that tries to unravel important global issues, before you know it, he’s jumped into real world eye witness experience that comes with a message of warning and concern and then in a comedic twist, he deliberately dumbs himself down to make himself the butt of the joke. Speedy turns of phrase, clarity with pace and all the while giving a human point of view rather than just being the announcer is Darren’s vocal performance stage. Darren is already extremely experienced in multiple stage, film, animation, and television series. He has worked as a Senior Tutor with NIDA too. These credits combined are important to include because it shows Darren has been told what to do and done his fair share of telling others what to do, too. He has spent years collaboratively working with a variety of directors, producers, and animators to achieve an artistic result. For all his abilities he knows he’s not on show, the product is.
