Annabel Hunter

Similar in style to actresses such as Jessie Buckley and Hayley Lu Richardson, Annabel Hunter brings a unique energy to her roles and is adaptable in genre, age, and style, with a sharp wit and dry sense of humour. Annabel began her training in sunny Meanjin/Brisbane at Queensland Theatre Company before relocating to Naarm/Melbourne to commence a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) at the VCA. Annabel’s theatre credits include BLANK (dir. Travis Dowling), The Cherry Orchard (dir. Bagryana Popov), Romeo and Juliet (dir. Mark Wilson), Archimedes War (dir. Krystalla Pearce), Hibernation (dir. Maude Davey), and EQUALS (dir. Cynda Beare). She is proud to have co-written and starred in various short films including Peninsula Film festival finalist The End (dir. William Jack Thaxter), and Thanks for Watching (dir. Alekh Chapman). Still residing in Melbourne, Annabel looks forward to gaining experience both on stage and screen in Australia and internationally. As a queer woman herself, Annabel is passionate about telling queer, female, stories and is fascinated by the minutiae of everyday life, and highlighting the beauty and comedy in the mundane. She hopes to tell honest, moving, relatable stories while always embracing the messy and absurd. Annabel has had the privilege of working with established teachers, actors, and directors including Georgina Naidu, Tahlee Faraday, Colin Sneesby, Amy Hume, Mark Wilson, Fiona MacLeod, and Chi Nguyen.
