Chloe Elmore

A few hours north of here there is a tropical island that does not obey the natural laws of the tides, the sun, and the stars. The breezes blow every now and then, the trees sway with a casual half-hearted rhythm and the sun’s dimmer switch is turned down. Life is slower here.

Above, the moon and its mates the stars, show up only when they feel like it. Animals by collective agreement have not progressed to a more advanced life form so they remain happily as snails, slugs, and slime.

Its one human inhabitant comes and goes to voice over jobs by hang glider. She sits beneath its colourful triangle of fabric coming and going, launching, and landing carried by the sea breezes with little or no effort.
